World Cocoa Foundation, Partnership Meeting, Washington DC

The World Cocoa Foundation is an international organization committed to ensuring cocoa sustainability through agricultural and environmental stewardship and development.

 

The WCF held a meeting in Washington DC on 13 and 14 June this year. The attendees to the event where: the organization’s president Bill Guyton, president Anne Alonzo, also accompanied by Mars CEO JP Bilbrey, Bharat Puri vice president of Kraft Foods and Jeannot Ahoussou Kouadio, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Ivory Coast among others.

 

With the participation of 70 companies and NGOs which represent over 80% of the global cocoa market.

 

The topics covered in the event where: Fostering Strategic Coordination for Agricultural Development, Conserving Cocoa Genetic Resources, Cocoa and Climate Change, The Role of Public-Private Partnerships in Feed the Future, Developing a Sustainable Cocoa M&E Platform, Improving Access to Finance and Services in Rural Communities, Latin America Cocoa Sector, among others
